Mission Zero: The Power of an Outrageously Ambitious Vision

| Events | March 23, 2013

George-BandyGeorge Bandy, Jr.

VP of Sustainability, Interface Inc.

When Ray Anderson challenged his employees in 1994, to create a fully sustainable company, the goal was more than ambitious. The magnitude of that vision, Mission Zero, would literally transform the company’s philosophy and business model.

George Bandy Jr., VP of Sustainability at Interface Inc. has helped guide the journey of the Mission Zero Team, engaging employees, supply chain partners and customers throughout the company’s global operations. In addition to his leadership at Interface, George is Chair Elect of the US Green Building Council and has served on the board of Second Nature, the non-profit that supports sustainability leadership in higher education.

In May, we were honored to present an evening with George Bandy who shared Interface’s journey “to be the first company that, by its deeds, shows the entire industrial world what sustainability is in all its dimensions: people, process, product, place and profits — by 2020 — and in doing so, become restorative through the power of influence.”
